Sunflower grist granulated /not granulated – a byproduct of the production of sunflower oil, obtained after pressing and extraction of oilseeds. Pressing – a process of squeezing oil from oilseeds.Extraction process involves the separation of the seeds after pressing residual oil with the help of organic solvents.
Sunflower grist – a valuable feed, as part of which contains 38-40% crude protein, rich set of amino acids, including a high content of methionine, which favorably affects the growth and development of young animals. In comparison with the press cake in grist there is somewhat more crude protein but less fat – not more than 1.5%. The content of vitamin B in sunflower grist is much higher than in soy. Sunflower grist is rich in niacin, riboflavin, choline, biotin, pantothenic acid and pyridoxine. Additionally, sunflower grist is an excellent source of vitamin E.
